Justin flies solo but takes a 180 this week and breaks down Miami at Virginia from the eyes of a coach. Tidbits are included from the R4 quarterback manuals called “From Helmet to Headset” and “Adapt or Die” by Darin Slack and Dub Maddox. Justin also looks into in-game decision making, the personnel decisions that make Mario Cristobal a winner at Oregon, and games to watch in week 8. This is VERY DIFFERENT for the usual Coachspeak mid-season conversation.
Hey all. I’ve updated the split zone plays on the IMFB Offense 2018 edition. The script was updated as well (PDF format). Please visit Patreon.com to watch and maybe even learn! 100% FREE but if you like it please donate to the cause.
I recently wrote a piece for SOTU.com (as part of the SB Nation network) on run-pass options. My focus is on how they’ve changed the rules, how they manipulate the rules, and what RPO’s we can expect to see going forward. Click here or the headline below to access. The video embeded below is from the article.
Prior, we had been running buck sweep the traditional way, down, kick, run inside the kick out. But we’ve increasingly had a harder and harder time finding outside running plays to keep defenses honest. Outside of a pull on inside zone read or a jet sweep (have never had a ton of success with them) I’ve OC’ed an inside run team the past three seasons.
In honor of #SplitZoneSaturday I’ve decided to contribute my split zone cut-ups and a diagram with animated GIF’s… ENJOY!
Manny talks RPO’s, coverage, pressure, “College Offense,” film trade, etc.
